There is a general public agreement that stray dogs are a serious problem in Chile. Citizens, media, and politicians have addressed and pointed out some of the main consequences derived from irresponsable tenancy. However, there is a lack of a regulatory framework, awareness about the implications of this problem, and a set of technical, long-term instruments that control and reduce canine population.
