ConScientiaGroup

Scientific Communication for Environmental Awareness

Picture

ConScientiaGroup is an international nonprofit organization aimed to synthesize scientific and academic knowledge on environmental and animal welfare issues in Chile to inform decision-makers and citizens, and generate changes in public policies and our daily life actions.
Our approach combines ethical, scientific and socio-political dimensions to raise awareness and recommend measures that empower citizens and generate changes in the way we understand and live our environment.

What we do?

Who are we?

We believe that doing research on environmental and animal welfare issues is not enough. Chile has an international scientific and academic network that conducts research every day to make this country a better place to live.

Our job is to create information channels between this scientific and academic production, citizens, and decision-makers.

We believe in the public role of knowledge production. We believe that scientific and scholarly communication on environmental and animal welfare issues should be action-oriented. Accordingly, synthesizing and translating scientific knowledge into an accessible language, and creating communication channels between institutions and citizens are our primary goals.
ConScientiaGroup originated in 2015 in Davis, California as part of the collective interest of a group of scientists, academics and young professionals concerned with improving aspects of environmental protection and animal welfare in Chile.

Started by epidemiologist Diego Montecino and historian William San Martin, the group includes an international and interdisciplinary network of specialists working on different aspects of the scientific, environmental, and socio-political development of Chile.
